Switches the project license from GPL-3.0 to MIT to reduce adoption friction and align with the Node/npm ecosystem.\n\nUpdates:\n- LICENSE -- replaced GPL-3.0 with MIT\n- README.md -- updated License badge and section link\n- CITATION.cff -- changed license field to MIT\n\npackage.json already lists MIT, so this brings all files into agreement.
